10th Annual Race for the Kids POSTPONED!
Mother Nature has spoken.
At the time of this post, the Wabash River has not yet crested. Even now, there is flooding in the Hutsonville area, and more rain is yet to come. The area has been scouted, and a portion of the bike path for the duathlon is two to three feet under water.
For these reasons, we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the 10th Annual Race for the Kids originally scheduled for May 6, 2017. THE NEW DATE WILL BE SATURDAY, JUNE 10 AT 8:00 A.M. Everything will proceed as had been planned for the weekend of May 6. We continue to encourage you to register, as the registration will remain open until June 9. And, even then, onsite registrations will be welcomed on the day of the event. Thank you for your understanding.

If you are a tried-and-true athlete, commit now to pushing yourself through a great course for the 10th annual Race for the Kids duathlon. You’ll run two miles, bike 20, and conclude with a final 2-mile run.
Sound a little daunting? That’s ok. We have a 5K offered at the same time on the same day! It is a flat, fast course through town in Hutsonville.
Registration fees are $30 (individuals) and $60 (teams—must consistent of two members—one biker and one runner; entry forms must be submitted together. Please specify biker or runner.)

On race day, registration/packet pick-up begins at 6:45 AM and continues until 7:45 AM.
Awards will be presented immediately after each race (5K and duathlon) in the following age categories: 20 & under, 21—30, 31—40, 41—50, 51—60, and 61 & over. Also receiving recognition will be the overall 5K winner (male and female), the overall individual duathlon winner (male and female), and the overall duathlon team winners.

NEW THIS YEAR!!
We are working on a new idea for this year—partnering with one to two other area races. We are hoping this concept will lead to a race series, where the athletes who participate in all of the series events will be eligible for additional awards. In 2017, we plan to offer, at a minimum, discounted registration fees and additional SWAG for those who participate in all series events. Currently, we are working on details for this concept with the Newman Freedom Race, which is scheduled for June 17, 2017. We are confident something will be put together for these two races and are in touch with a third, an area triathlon. Stay tuned for more updates!
