We are so excited to have the event and your participation! Some are walking in the park, and some are walking virtually (on their own timeline wherever they choose). Thank you to all who have said “yes!” to their part in the 16th annual event!!
Join us for a heroic adventure at the Oblong Children’s Christian Home’s 15th Annual 5k, now known as “Run with the Heroes: 5k for the Kids!” For over a decade, our community has come together to support our mission of providing a loving and nurturing home for children in need. We’re thrilled to celebrate 16 years of running for a cause that matters.
This year, we’re embracing a superhero theme! Dust off your favorite capes, masks, and costumes, because we’re awarding prizes for the best-dressed runners as sci-fi characters. Whether you come as Darth Vader, Captain Kirk, or your own original creation, we want to see your heroic spirit shine. And of course, classic Halloween costumes are welcome too!
Mark your calendars for October 25th, Saturday, at 8:00 AM, and be part of this heartwarming tradition. Registration is only $30, and all proceeds go toward supporting the children who call our home theirs. Let’s run, laugh, and celebrate together in the spirit of giving and community. See you at “The Cosmic Run!”

Time: 8:00 AM (CDT)
Deadline for entry: October 9 (if you’d like a commemorative t-shirt); otherwise, register and pay by noon on October 24.
Awards will be presented immediately after the race to the following age group winners (male and female): 10 and under, 11—15, 16—20, 21—30, 31—40, 41—50, 51—60, 61–71, 72 and over. We will also award an overall male and female participant. Note: Virtual participants will not be competing for awards.
