Referral Development Specialist
Oblong Children's Christian Home has an immediate half-time employment opportunity for a Referral Development Specialist.
Job duties include working in collaboration with mental health counselors, probation officers, ministers, school counselors,
truancy officers, and other professionals to facilitate out-of-home placement for children in need. Position involves
developing a network of referral sources throughout Illinois and Indiana, building relationships with these potential referral
sources, and continaully updating them about the outstanding programming available at the Oblong Children's Christian Home.

3. Ability to speak in front of small groups
4. Strong writing skills
5. Telephone skills
6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
7, Working knowledge of PowerPoint or the ability to learn these skills
8. Self-motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented
9. Ability to work as a team member and accept supervision
10. College degree preferred, but not required
11. Must have a driver's license and be able to pass a background check
12. Must be an active member of a Church of Christ or Christian Church
This is a half-time position. Hours are flexible. Retirees are welcome to apply. Person could work
from his/her own home or from the Children's Home office. Vehicle provided for work-related travel, but shared with

Counselor/Case Manager
Oblong Children's Christian Home will soon have an opening for a full-time counselor/case
manager. A Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related human services field is preferred, but
a Bachelor's degree in one of these fields might also be considered. The successful candidate must be able to integrate
his/her training in social service with his/her faith. Candidates must be active memers of a Christian Church or Church of
Christ. Duties include admissions work, case management, counseling of children in the care of the Home, and working

Compensation
Salary range: $30,000 - $35,000 depending upon
education and experience
Potential raise after 6 months
Retirement paid by employer - 16% of salary

Teacher's Aid
New Life Christian Academy at the Oblong Children's Christian Home needs a volunteer to assist the teacher in the classroom.
Position involves working up to 5 days a month. Days vary month to month. Hours are 8:00 - 1:30. Duties
include grading student work using a scoring key and assisting students one-to-one. No prior teaching experience is
needed. Two people could fill the position, each working 2 - 3 days per month.
