This traditional fall event is on the move. . .
In 2012, the Race for the Kids, a duathlon and 5K to support the Oblong Children's
Christian Home, will move to the spring. Train early and stay in shape through those difficult winter months so that
you are prepared to participate in this event now scheduled for May 5, 2012!

Venue
Hutsonville City Park, Hutsonville, IL
Biking portion of race will be
on IL County Hwy 5 between Hutsonville and Palestine, IL.
Race will begin at 8:00 a.m.(Central) on May 5, 2012.
On-site
registration and packet pick-up will begin at 6:45 a.m. and continue until 7:45 a.m.
Cost
Early
registration (for participation in either the 5K or duathlon):
$25 (Individual)
$50 (Team - must consist of two members - one biker and one runner)
After April 18, costs increase to
$30 (Individual)
$60 (Team)
Entry fees are nonrefundable. Race will commence rain or shine.
By
completing the online entry form, you have completed your registration. You will be invoiced for the cost of the race;
you may pay onsite or by mail.
Course Description
Duathlon:
Run - Flat (out and back) - 2 miles
Bike - Flat to gently rolling hils (loop) - 19.4 miles
Run - Flat (out and back) - 2 miles
5K:
Start at Park. Participants
will run or walk through town (loop - flat, paved
roadway)

*Post-race refreshments
All participants will be eligible for randomly
drawn door prizes as well.
Awards
Awards will be presented immediately after each race (5K and duathlon) in
the following age categories:
*20 and under
*21 - 30
*31 - 40
*41 - 50
*51 - 60
*61 and over
Also
receiving recognition will be the
overall 5K winner (male and female)
overall
individual duathlon winner (male and female)
overall duathlon team
Regulations
All
duathlon participants must wear an ANSI or Snell approved helmet during the cycling race.
5K participants can bring
children in strollers.
